Lymington Gin is launched

Our first gin is now on sale….albeit in very limited quantities!First gin bottles

With the main still awaiting a few final components, we are making our gin on the pilot still but we are really happy with the taste and aroma of the product.

Lymington Gin is distilled to 43% with juniper, coriander seeds, angelica root and seeds, orris root, bitter orange peel, cardamom, fresh lemon zest and sweet almonds. We then infuse the finished gin with hops to give a heady aroma, increased texture and a flavour that really goes well with lime (it’s the linalool oil that does it for those who want to get technical).

We’ve been dry-hopping beers for nearly a decade now so it seemed only right and proper that we should do the same with our first gin – but it took some careful trials to get the balance right. We are using East Kent Goldings hops as we didn’t want foreign hops in a quintessentially English gin!

The gin is only on sale at the distillery on Lower Pennington Lane at the moment but once the main still has been commissioned later on this month, we will be pushing to get it listed wherever great spirits are to be found.

If you’d like to order a bottle – please call Richard on 07952 639465 or send us an email. The bottles are priced at £24.00 including VAT for a 50cl bottle.

If you’d like to try the gin without buying a bottle then The Monkey House in Lymington and Ebenezer’s Bar in Hythe are already stocking it.

Hi. We’re The Silverback Alehouse in Winton, Bournemouth and we’re on the lookout for good local gin. We already stock Conker, Pothecary and Silverback (a bit further afield, I know). We’d like to order a couple of bottles – I can pick up if it’s convenient for you.

    1. It works really well with a slice of lime and four or five pink peppercorns. One of our posh restaurant customers uses fresh strawberry and mint….but I have not tried that myself yet!
      Cheers
